THE NIGHTINGALE PROJECT is presented at the CERIS CBRN-E Research & Innovation Day

27 March 2024

On 21 March, the NIGHTINGALE Project was presented at the Community for European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS) CBRN-E Research and Innovation Conference.

The event took place in Strasbourg, France and was attended by 15 EU-funded projects and had 75 participants. Thematic panel discussions saw expert speakers tackle chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive issues.

Our NIGHTINGALE partners, Magen David Adom in Israel (MDA) took part in the Interoperability Panel and presented the project to practitioners, industry and policy makers.

Chaim Rafalowski, Disaster Management and EU Projects Coordinator at MDA presented the innovation the NIGHTINGALE Project is bringing to the field of Disaster Resilient Societies. During his presentation, he noted two challenges faced as part of the Project, including legislation that fails to account for emergency situations, particularly concerning privacy issues, which poses a major barrier to using the technology developed as part of the Project. The second challenge addressed was the lack of available databases needed for AI machine learning.
